Our Story

Dustin and I met in high school. We met at a high school football game. He doesn't remember it, but I do because I thought he was cute.  After Dustin graduated high school, he went into the Air Force. Although he was in Florida and I was going to Carson Newman in Jefferson City, TN, we stayed friends and kept in touch via internet and lots of long distance phone calls. Once he was out of the Air Force, Dustin moved back home in July 2006. He asked me to be his girlfriend on November 2, 2006. I was so excited. We have been dating for four years. In that time, he has moved to Bowling Green Kentucky to finish his Bachelor's degree in meteorology, and I have moved to Johnson City to continue my education and obtain my Master's degree in Counseling. A long distance relationship is not easy, but we decided it was best for us to finish our education . This Christmas, Dustin asked me to marry him. On Christmas Eve, we finished watching a movie and realized it was a 11:58. We counted down to Christmas. 11:59 ! Midnight ! Merry Christmas !! Then he said I have another Christmas present for you. He got down on one knee and said "Melissa will you marry me ?" And of course I said yes !! We have been through alot together since we met in high school, and I am so excited to marry my best friend !! Dustin and I plan on getting married June 2, 2012 !
